MM: What is your favourite creative outlet and how do you stay inspired?

AH: My favourite creative outlet varies, but at the moment it would be photography.
I feel like my trick to staying inspired is by noticing the details in things and people around me and how those details make me feel. That feeling is what usually inspires me to create something. For instance, surfing in the evening, noticing the moon and stars touch the top of the ocean creating a moment you want to hold onto forever. That's what I soak up as often as I can, those lovely romantic moments that are free for everyone.

MM: How long have you been a photographer? Are you self-taught or did you study?

AH: I've been taking photos for the better part of 5 years and took the long road, am most definitely self-taught.
I had never loaded a roll of film until my first day shooting at The Pass on a Nikonos V which is very old manual film camera.
I loved the challenge of figuring out the settings and perfecting the timing all while trying not to get swept down to Main Beach.

MM: What is/are your biggest inspiration/s?

AH: As far as artists go it would be anyone who creates with meaning and for the actual act of creating itself, not for the finished product or to appease their "audience".
I really admire my fellow friends and photographers Marcus Haney and Fran Miller, they both have a passion for story telling that is absolutely exceptional and always leaves me with a desire to do better.

MM: What is the best advice you have received?

AH: The best advice I have ever received was that you've gotta risk it for the biscuit. It's far too easy to stay comfortable but nothing changes if nothing changes, action is everything.

MM: If you could choose a theme song for your life what would it be?

AH: Kurt Vile - Baby's Arms ❤️
