Golden Hours in Bali

There’s a certain softness to Bali — the way time stretches, the air lingers, and everything feels just a little more golden.

We spent a week there with our dear friend and photographer, Alana — equal parts work and wandering, though the two tend to blur in a place like this.

We began in Canggu, tucked inside a villa that felt worlds away — textured walls, sun-washed tones, and quiet corners that could have been somewhere in Morocco. It became our backdrop for a full day of shooting — slow, considered, and full of movement. In between, there was the rhythm of the days: long lunches, sourcing with our makers, a little too much shopping, and evenings that slipped easily into cold Bintangs and margaritas.

We found ourselves returning to Shelter and Yuki — both easy favourites, the kind of places you settle into and stay longer than intended.

From there, we moved down the coast to Bingin — slower, quieter, and impossibly beautiful. Our next villa was a dream — French details softened by Balinese textures, light pouring in at every angle. It was here we captured our summer campaign, days unfolding between shooting, supplier visits, and slipping out for long, lingering meals.

There were cliff-top massages, salty skin, and that end-of-day glow you can’t quite recreate anywhere else. We loved 'Ours' restaurant, found a moment of stillness at Mu Spa — where the girls are just as warm as the treatments — and ended more than one afternoon at Single Fin, watching the sun slip into the ocean with a drink in hand.

A week that felt both full and unhurried — grounded in good people, beautiful places, and the quiet magic of creating something together, far from home. Till next time x
